Tooth Extractions

At Trinity Hills Dental we try to fix your teeth with fillings, crowns and root canals if possible. In some instances, however, a tooth is beyond repair and needs to be extracted. Reasons for extraction can include significant bone loss and gum inflammation (periodontal disease), large decay, or fractured teeth. Extractions are a last resort option in dentistry as maintaining the natural teeth is ideal.

Removing a tooth can lead to other problems in a patient’s mouth. Adjacent teeth can begin to drift or migrate out of position, chewing can be compromised, speech can be affected, or esthetic concerns may arise. Replacing removed teeth with one of the replacement options (implants, bridges, or dentures) can prevent or alleviate these problems. We are happy to discuss and help with any questions or concerns that you may have surrounding tooth extractions and missing teeth.
