Night guards are made of a thick medical-grade plastic which covers either the upper teeth or the lower teeth, but not both.
A night guard (sometimes called a splint) is designed to prevent the complications that accompany bruxism, or nighttime teeth grinding and clenching. Bruxism leads to premature wear and damage to the teeth, facial pain, and headaches. Teeth grinding can also cause the jaw joints to feel stiff or tender and you might experience pain and tenderness in some muscles of the face.
We make custom-made night guards to fit your teeth specifically. This is more comfortable and effective than a store-bought product. The night guards we make are adjusted properly to your bite, which is important as you will be wearing it for a significant amount of time while you sleep.
At Trinity Hills Dental, our goal is for you to be healthy, pain-free, able to eat what you want, confident about the way you look, and happy with your smile!
We follow the Alberta Dental Fee Guide and can direct bill insurance.
